National Parks

There are 26 beautiful National Parks in Virginia. Prince William & Manassas is lucky to be home to two of these wonderful Virginia National Parks – Manassas National Battlefield Park and Prince William Forest Park. Whether you are looking for a vigorous hike through a national park, a relaxing yoga session, a historic exploration, or a place to bring your dog out for an adventure, the national parks in Northern Virginia are sure to provide you with what you are looking for.

Manassas National Battlefield Park is first and foremost, a historical landmark. This is where the First and Second Battles of Manassas/Bull Run occurred. For those of you who paid attention in history class, you will know that these were to pivotal battles during the Civil War. Whether you are a history buff or not, you will be captured by the stories shared by tour guides at this beautiful park. In addition to being a huge historical landmark, Manassas National Battlefield Park also has beautiful scenery and wonderful trails. With views of the Bull Run Mountains, who wouldn’t want to go for a nature walk or run through this park?

Prince William Forest Park is 15,000 acres of beauty. In addition to being the largest Piedmont Forest in the National Park Service, Prince William Forest Park is also the largest green space in the DC Metropolitan area. While the park is considered green space, can you imagine what it looks like when the leaves change in the fall? This is what landed the park on our list of the Top 10 Things To Do In Prince William & Manassas This Fall. 37 miles of hiking trails and 21 miles of bike accessible roads and trails make this the perfect place to get outside and get active.

Celebrate the National Park Service’s 100th Anniversary by visiting one of our Northern Virginia National Parks. Take part in the National Park’s #FindYourPark campaign and share your story.
