Potomac Nationals Return For 2015 Season

Potomac Nationals Return For 2015 Season

As the calendar flips to April the trees begin to bloom, the air begins to warm, and business at the local baseball stadium ramps up. In just one week, April 9th to be exact, the Potomac Nationals, a Single A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, will take the field for the first time to defend their 2014 Carolina League Championship.

For the fans, the Potomac Nationals remain one of the best deals in town. A night out at the ballpark with the family is not only an affordable entertainment option but one that’s enjoyable for the entire family.

Like in past seasons, the Nationals are poised to offer numerous giveaways throughout the season including several bobblehead nights. Fans will have an opportunity to receive a Steven Souza Jr. "The Catch" figurine commemorating his no-hitter clinching web gem behind Washington Nationals RHP Jordan Zimmermann on the final day of the 2014 regular season (Saturday, June 13th), a Michael Taylor "Flattop" Major League Debut bobblehead with faux hair (Saturday, June 20th), a Wilson Ramos hybrid half-man, half-buffalo "Buff-A-rine" (Sunday, July 5th), The Goonies 30th Anniversary "One-Eyed Willie" bobblehead (Saturday, August 1st), and a Ryan Zimmerman P-Nats bobblehead (Sunday, August 16th).

The number one theme night to attend in all of Minor League Baseball will take place at the Home of the Potomac Nationals in 2015. Paying tribute to one of the most popular cult film classics of all time, the P-Nats are proud to host "The Goonies 30th Anniversary Night" on Saturday, August 1st featuring a post-game showing of The Goonies (1985) on the outfield video board. The Pfitz will be blanketed by Goonies-themed activities including a Treasure Hunt, Costume Contest, and Trivia. Famous child star actor, Corey Feldman, who played the role of Clark "Mouth" Devereaux in The Goonies will be on hand to meet and greet fans while signing autographs and posing for pictures.

Military Appreciation Night, a tradition of the Potomac Nationals Baseball franchise, will honor the armed forces community in Northern Virginia on Saturday, August 15th.

Special game-used, on-field, autographed jersey auctions have been scheduled around Al Pacino Night on Pacino's birthday, Saturday, April 25th and Saturday Night Live Night on Saturday, May 30th. Al Pacino-related banter will be in the air while Pacino-specific activities and trivia are planned for the Pacino birthday bash, and SNL Night will bring with it a celebration of 40 years looking back at the sketch comedy and variety show touchstone.
