Marine Corps Museum

Explore the Making Marines exhibit and follow new recruits from their induction through the 12 weeks of boot camp. This gallery explains how the Marine Corps transforms raw recruits from ordinary citizens into elite warriors. In Making Marines, visitors can experience a motivational speech from a Drill Instructor, heft a fully loaded pack, and test their aim on the M-16 Laser Rifle Range. This exhibit is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Underground Railroad: Network to Freedom exhibit

Visitors of the Underground Railroad: Network to Freedom exhibit will learn about Leesylvania State Park’s rich and diverse history. Associated with the flight of runaway slaves the Leesylvania property will offer displays and exhibitions illustrating their inclusion in the underground railroad. This exhibit is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Don’t let the fact that this Planetarium is located inside Hylton High School fool you – Hylton Planetarium is a full dome, state of the art planetarium. This week’s laser shows are Legends of the Night Sky: Orion at 7p.m.  and Laser U2  at 8:30 p. m.
