Arts Alive! 2015 Coming Soon!
Arts Alive! 2015, a co-production of the Prince William Arts Council and the Hylton Performing Arts Center is a free arts festival occurring on Saturday, May 2nd from 12 PM to 4 PM at the Hylton Center. This annual event presents the diversity of fine and performing artists of the county along with hands on free activities for children and adults. Food and craft vendors will also be on-site with items for sale.
There will be 32 performances occurring on 4 stages - Merchant Hall, the Gregory Family Theater, and the Buchanan Partners Art Gallery inside the Hylton Performing Arts Center and on the Showmobile outside of the building. Performances range from the Old Bridge Chamber Orchestra, to Magnificent Belly Dance to the Dumfries Elementary School Chorus. Also performing are the New Dominion Choraliers, scholarship winners from the Woodbridge Music Club, the Church Street Gospel Singers and Fools!Improv. There will also be strolling performers from the BRUU Mime Troupe and Pied Piper Children’s Theater.
Visual Arts groups include the Manassas Warrenton Camera Club, Stone House Quilters and the Prince William Art Society. There will be activities for children such as water color painting with Edgemore Art Studio, face painting, and a children’s story corner. Various crafters will be selling their wares such as jewelry, pottery and photography. Write by the Rails writing group will have books from many local writers available for sale.
Arts Alive! 2015 is being held at the Hylton Performing Arts Center on the Prince William Campus of George Mason University at 10960 George Mason Circle, Manassas, Virginia. The event and parking are both free so come out and support the local talent!
