Plan Your Visit For the 2015 Quicken Loans National[Problem with one of widgets on this page]
In late July, thousands of fans will storm the gates at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia to get a glimpse of 120 PGA Tour professionals taking aim at the 2015 Quicken Loans National tournament. The Tiger Woods Foundation picked RTJ, as it’s known locally, as its host this year due to its past success hosting the President’s Cup as well as the course’s recent redesign in 2010.
Built by the infamous designer Robert Trent Jones, the course is a magnificent modern design that curves along Lake Manassas. At 7,425 yards, this modern marvel will test the top golfers in the world and provide for an amazing golf tournament for both the players and the fans that come to experience this one-of-a-kind event!
Although the 18th green is the most sought after location for tournament patrons, there’s no better view on this course than the stunning par-3 11th hole. Divided in two by Lake Manassas, the hole is a typical Robert Trent Jones “do or die” style of design. In tournament play this hole provides the type of excitement many fans search for in a course. The opportunity for a hole-in-one during tournament play is high while a wayward tee shot could easily derail an otherwise promising round.
The tournament is scheduled to run from July 27th to August 2nd. Strokes will start to count on Thursday, July 30th, the first day of the four-day tournament. The Golf Channel and CBS are set to cover the event from Thursday through Sunday.
Some of the past champions of this event include Tiger Woods, Justin Rose, KJ Choi, and Bill Haas. However, due to its unique position on the schedule, the event is expecting a number of the top tour pros to turn out for the event. This golf tournament is a great final test before many of the players gear up for the PGA Championship in August. Woods has already confirmed he’ll attend and play in his tournament while other big names such as Rory McIlroy, Jim Furyk, and Dustin Johnson are likely to play as well.
