Golfing in Prince William & Manassas
As the flowers begin to bloom and the weather warms, avid golfers will begin to shake off the winter rust as they tee it up at one of our fantastic local courses. Prince William & Manassas has slowly emerged as a regional destination for golfers looking to play the latest and greatest courses. A lot of that stems from the recently opened Potomac Shores golf course that was designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus.
Whether you’re looking for a fun weekend with the guys or just hoping to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Prince William & Manassas is the perfect place for a golf weekend getaway!
DAY ONE: Challenge yourself at our publicly accessible Jack Nicklaus designed course, Potomac Shores Golf Club. This course has full service practice facilities and features a European style playing experience. Located alongside the banks of the Potomac River you can relax in the clubhouse and enjoy a meal at Tidewater Grill Next up, tee off at the Old Hickory Golf Course in Woodbridge. A par-72 course, it was designed by architect Tom Freeland. Enjoy the turn-of the century clubhouse with a dining room and veranda that overlooks the beautiful course. Finish your day with a Potomac Nationals game. Or head out to dinner and drinks at Tim’s Rivershore Restaurant & Crabhouse. Situated along the Potomac River, the restaurant is famous for its home-cooked seafood and dining atmosphere. Have a leisurely meal indoors or outside at the torch-lit tiki bar.
DAY TWO: Tee off at Stonewall Jackson Golf Club where you will have stunning views of Lake Manassas and the Bull Run Mountains. This Tom-Jackson designed course features multiple sets of tees to challenge all golf levels. After, head to lunch in the 18th century styled Brass Cannon Restaurant. Next up visit Bull Run Golf Club, which has received numerous accolades for its stunning course. Bull Run spans 450 acres and meanders through scenic meadows, ponds and woodlands. After your game, travel to the Winery at La Grange in Haymarket for a wine tasting.” Sip on Virginia wines and enjoy the scenic view of the mountains. For dinner visit BJ’s Brewhouse in Gainesville for a selection of deep dish pizzas and a wide variety of great beers.
DAY THREE: Schedule an early tee time at Bristow Manor Golf Club and enjoy rolling terrain on this beautiful layout that was once considered a “Top 100 Public Course” by Golf Digest from 1998-2000. After your round, head into Historic Downtown Manassas for a delicious lunch at Okra’s Cajun Creole Restaurant. Spend the day shopping local throughout Downtown Manassas at the local boutiques before departing in the afternoon.
